Ibori is a Free Man, All legal Constraints Removed.

London - Legal constraints against the return of the former governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori, were yesterday removed when a London High Court refused pleas by the Home Office to technically hold him back in the country.

Speaking immediately after the end of the court hearing, Ibori said he would be home in days. He was, however, not specific. A press statement issued by his media aide,

Tony Eluemunor, said yesterday’s case was to determine the amount of compensation the British Government would pay him for holding him in jail for an extra day after the Home Office last December sought to hold him back at the expiration of his jail term on December 20, 2016 on the claim that the confiscation hearing of assets traced to the former governor had not been concluded. The court, however, rejected the restraining order, a move that apparently nudged the former governor of Delta State to seek compensation for the extra day he spent in jail.
