Two Die in Communal Clash in Edo Communities
THERE is tension in Iguomo and Ikhuenbo communities in Uhumwonde Local Government Area of Edo state following the alleged killing of two persons in a communal clash involving the two communities.
The two victims whose names were given as Osamudiamen Erhumwunse and Solomon Osayi were from Iguomo. Six other victims, including a policeman sustained bullet wounds.
It was said that the decomposing bodies of the two victims were recovered on Thursday from a river in the community.
It would be recalled that both communities have been at war with each other over boundary dispute since 1976. Vice Chairman of Iguomo community, Stanley Osadiaye, who led a peaceful protest against the killings alleged that some militants have been stationed inside the disputed forest to kill their people.
