Stakeholders Applaud Edo State House Of Assembly Ahead Public Hearing On Grazing Bill

Ahead of Thursday’s public hearing organized by the Edo State House of Assembly for the bill grazing and activities of herdsmen in the state, stakeholders in Benin have commended the move while speaking on their expectations.

Few days ago the lawmakers gave the bill its second reading and decided to subject it to public hearing because of the sensitive and importance nature of the bill.

In view of this some stakeholders in Benin described the move by the state legislature as a welcome development as it will afford all parties to contribute to the bill before is eventually passed into law.

They said the lawmakers should give the people the freedom to air their and also accept it genuinely so that the impact of the contribution by the people should be actually felt once the bill is passed into law.

However some respondents were of the opinion that the public hearing would have been done before the second reading expressing fear that the wishes might not at the end of the day sail through.

The public hearing on a bill relating to grazing and activities of herdsmen men in the state is to hold Thursday at ten o’clock in the morning.
