The Iyase of Benin Conveys a Palace Message to the Edo Diaspora.
The Iyase of Benin, Chief Sam Igbe was a special guest of honour this weekend at the 70th birthday celebration of (DR) Taiwo Ayomwan Idemudia held at Porchester Hall, London.
The Iyase in his speech congratulated Dr Idemudia on this huge milestone and praised him for his contributions not just to the Edo people but also to Nigeria and the
international community. Chief Igbe expressed his delight at seeing so many people from all over the world that have come to celebrate with an outstanding Bini man. The Iyase used the occasion to convey Omo N Oba N Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo's message to the Edo diaspora. The Oba is concerned about Bini Language not being spoken in the Edo diaspora. His Royal Majesty Oba Ewuare II wants the Edo diaspora to ensure that Bini language is projected across generations of Edos in the diaspora. He said all Benin unions and associations in the diaspora should only communicate with the Bini language in their monthly meetings.
Edo connect also brought back the same message to the members of Benin Union UK when its Editor returned from his visit to Oba Ewuare II in March 2017. If anyone is making progress in this direction or experiencing difficulties kindly let the members of the Odionwere Council in the UK and Ireland know about it.
The day however belonged to Dr Idemudia and on behalf of all Edos in the diaspora we wish you a very long life with good health and prosperity.
