'Embarrassing' Osimhen faces Napoli sanctions for breaching Covid rules in Nigeria
Napoli coach Gennaro Gattuso said Sunday he felt foolish for giving Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen permission to travel home for Christmas with the forward testing positive for coronavirus on his return. Osimhen faces club sanctions after images of him partying without wearing a mask were shared on social media. But Gattuso said he also felt embarrassed for giving the 22-year-old permission to r"The responsibility of sending him to Nigeria was also mine. It's embarrassing for the two of us," Gattuso said after Sunday's 4-1 Serie A win over Cagliari.
Osimhen apologised earlier on Sunday."I am sorry for what happened. I made a mistake going to Nigeria right now," the forward said in an Instagram post."I made a mistake going to a surprise party without understanding the gravity of what I was doing."I apologise to the club, the coach, the team and the fans."
According to Italian media, the images on social media were filmed in late December to mark Osimhen's birthday. Osimhen joined Napoli for a club record fee of up to 80 million euros ($94.6 million) last summer but has not played since November 8 because of a shoulder injury.

Odion Ighalo has revealed that the Manchester derby between United and City on March 8, 2020 has been the highlight of his year-long spell at the Red Devils.Manchester United signed Ighalo on transfer deadline day in January 2020 but at least four other targets including academy product Joshua King were on their radar before they settled for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations top scorer. In a tactical substitution by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Ighalo replaced another new arrival in Bruno Fernandes two minutes from time for his first ever appearance in a Manchester derby."That was electrifying! Owen Otasowie's Brighton miss could now prompt his Wolves rise
January 4, 2021Tom Procter
Nuno’s side produced a fantastic showing against the Seagulls to go in 3-1 up at the break, but were very poor in the second 45 which allowed the hosts to earn a point.
Wolves did have a golden chance to steal the points at the death though, with substitute Owen Otasowie inexplicably heading over from point-blank range. It was virtually the last action of the game, and the American being slumped in the netting just about summed up the feeling at the final whistle.
The youngster will have beaten himself up about the chance, but realistically the final result was in no way down to him.
One potential positive of that Otasowie miss though, is that it could well now light a fire beneath him. The dynamo has looked really promising during recent cameos, and Friday’s FA Cup tie with Crystal Palace may be a golden opportunity for the 19-year-old.· It’s likely he’ll be wanting to use that miss against Brighton as motivation to stake a real claim to be a starter in midfield. · He is that box-to-box player Wolves crave, and hopefully this can be the start of something for him at Molinuex
Sheffield Wednesday youngster Osaze Urhoghide has committed his short-term future to the club after penning a contract extension.
The 19-year-old, who arrived at Wednesday last year following a successful trial after his release from AFC Wimbledon, sparked national headlines after a hugely impressive display in his first-team debut at Premier League Brighton in January. He has so far made four appearances for Garry Monk’s side and is understood to be highly regarded at Hillsborough. It is understood that Wednesday have exercised a one-year option on his contract. “The club have already made it clear that they want to tie him down on a long-term deal, and I think that if it wasn’t for this Coronavirus pandemic then it would have been done already.
