In an effort to stimulate the state’s economic revolution, Edo state government has disclosed plan to organise a three-day agriculture/investment workshop, with at least, 50 agric-based entrepreneurs including investors, expected to be among participants, in Benin, on Thursday.
In a statement issued by Chief Press Secretary of Edo State governor, John Mayaki, on Wednesday, in Benin, Governor Godwin Obaseki, disclosed that purpose of the workshop was to examine specific opportunities that exist in agriculture.
The State said Obaseki, while receiving in audience, management of Bronze FM led by Abimbola Oyetunde, in Government House in Benin City on Tuesday had stated that the aim was also to know how Edo people could key into agriculture and stimulate the state’s economic revolution.
He noted that ahead of the section, the state government had gone round the state to put together a land bank of more than 250,000 hectares.
It would be recalled that Obaseki had pledged during his electioneering campaign to explore opportunities in the agricultural sector with regards to creation of job for teeming youths and ensure food security in the state.
