THE Obaseki family of Benin Kingdom, Edo State, yesterday, paid a visit to the Benin monarch, Oba Ewuare II, to inform him about the burial plans of the Obaseki of Benin Kingdom, Justice Andrew Obaseki (retd), which is scheduled to kick off August 7, 2017.
The immediate younger brother of the deceased, Elder George Obaseki, led members of the family including Governor Godwin Obaseki, to the palace of the Oba.
Urging members of the family to disregard an announcement made in the media about the burial plans of the retired Supreme Court Justice, as it did not emanate from the family, Elder Obaseki informed the Oba of the date for the burial and solicited for prayers for a successful burial.
The monarch, in his response, extolled the leadership qualities of the late Justice Obaseki, and his contributions to the growth of the judiciary in the country.
He expressed gratitude to God and the ancestors for giving the deceased the opportunity of seeing one of their sons as governor of Edo State and prayed God and the ancestors to give the Obaseki family the fortitude to bear the loss.
