EDO State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has set up a 13-man committee to discuss and engage stakeholders on the best strategies to reposition the party and bring it back to its winning ways.
The setting up of the committee was sequel to the recent stakeholders’ meeting of the party where participants highlighted the challenges facing the party.
Chief Dan Orbih, the state Chairman of the party who inaugurated the committee at the state party’s secretariat in Benin City yesterday, said its mandates were to come up with ideas to restructure the party, identify lapses and make recommendations.
The committee is headed by a former House of Representatives member, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi while a former member of the Edo State Assembly, Mr Paschal Ugbome will serve as secretary.
The committee is to receive memorandum from all party faithful in addition to hosting a public hearing to get first hand information from members.
Meanwhile, the committee will also conduct a holistic forensic analysis of results of party faithful in their respective polling units during the September 2016 gubernatorial election and has until August 31, 2017 to submit its report.
