Lagos gives family of slain informant N5m
The Lagos State Government has donated N5m to the family of Mr. Osaze Omorogbe, a community leader killed by kidnappers for leading security agents to foil their operation.
Presenting the cheque to the widow and children of the victim on behalf of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, at the family’s residence in Isawo, Ikorodu, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Community and Communications, Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan, praised the late Omoregbe for his heroic role.
Reading the condolence message personally signed by the governor, Bamigbetan said the late Omoregbe paid the supreme price.
“At a time our administration is consolidating partnership with our communities, late Omoregbe stood up to be counted. But he paid the supreme price,” the letter read in part.
The widow, Mrs. Omodunni Omoregbe, who received the cheque, was too emotional to say anything.
Speaking on behalf of the LCDA, the chairperson, Mrs. Jumoke Ademehin-Jumbo, commended the Lagos State Government for coming to the rescue of the family.
