Edo Attorney General’s husband suspended from NSE for fraud
A business partner of governor of Edo State and husband of Prof Yinka Omorogbe – the Attorney General of Edo State – Mr Allan Omorogbe, has been suspended for five years from the Nigerian Stock Exchange for fraud.
According to our source who pleaded anonymity, Mr Omorogbe was suspended along side APC financier and member of the Board of Afrinvest, Mr Victor Ogiemwonyi.
Ogienmwonyi is also Chief Executive Officer of Partnership Investment as well as owner of Urban Oasis Hotel in Benin city.
Ogiemwonyi was allegedly expelled for life from the Nigerian Stock Exchange as a result of the N4.8bn Shares scandal both men were indicted for in February 2017.
As as filing in this report, it has not been ascertained whether these scandals will directly or indirectly affect the Attorney General who is the wife of the suspected Mr Omorogbe or the governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki, who has significant interest in Afriinvest, a company that has been enmeshed in several litigations in recent time, many bothering on fraud or breach of trust.
In any case, the governor is immuned from prosecution as long as he holds the office of governor.
