Buhari to Trump: I’m fit, sprightly, not lifeless

The Buhari Media Organisation BMO to Trump:

We are aware that President Trump’s disrespect for World Leaders is not new; his comments on Canada’s Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, calling him ‘meek and mild’; his reference to Germany’s leader, Angela Merkel’s actions as ‘insane’, or his outlandish Tweet at the UK’s Theresa May, and more recently, the alleged remarks he made after meeting President Buhari. “It is indeed not the first time president Trump would be heard to lower the standards of respect for his colleagues on the World Stage. “We are not surprised, we know that this age-long character of the US president would not change anytime soon. But it is important that we put it on record that President Buhari remains fit and sprightly, even for the next decade”, they added.

Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Anti-Corruption (PACAC), Prof Itse Sagay (SAN) to Trump.

Sagay said he did not believe Trump could have made the “irresponsible comment”.

He alerted Nigerians to be wary of fake news being peddled on the social media.

He said: “How could the U.S. President say Buhari as lifeless? I don’t believe President Trump made such irresponsible comment. If the source of the comment in question is social media, I won’t waste time on it. It is all lies; it is fake news.

Nigerian Senator Shehu Sani to Trump:

Just like other times, Mr Trump had spoken ill of Africa, is an attack on Nigeria and the continent.”

He challenged African leaders to defend their integrity while charging them to seek ‘political and economic prosperity within the continent rather than going out.

“First our continent Africa was called a “shithole”, then a Black woman Omarosa was called “a dog” and now our president was called “Lifeless”. President Trump contempt for Africa and the black race has become a component of his character and conduct and it stands condemned.“Trump words, if actually uttered against President Buhari, is an attack on the honour of our country and our race. “African leaders must come out of their cowardly shell and defend the integrity and moral uprightness of their people whenever it’s under attack by ultra right leaders. “Its ironic that the same President Trump that publicity applauded our president can go behind him and utter such a derogatory and demeaning remarks. It’s time African leaders look within the continent for their political and economic prosperity than going to those who will humiliate them.”

Mr Sani condemned the statement accusing the ‘author’ of indecency.

“The “lifeless” statement against our president stands condemned.

“President Trump has crossed the line of decency. Trump’s statement against our President stands against the spirit and principles of American values and democracy,” he said.

CUPP: Coalition of United Political Parties hails Trump ,

The American President was right in his assertion, boasting that it would drive Buhari out of power in the 2019 poll. It would lead Nigerians to stop Buhari’s continued reign of incompetence and impunity in 2019. “

Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to Trump:  An international embarrassment not only to Nigerian but also to the nation as a whole.
